Comments: WORST "JOB" EVER. Been working at Aldi for all of 4 days and I am driving myself crazy trying to find another job almost to the point of begging someone to hire me. If you arent impossibly fast you are yelled at. If you are fast and arent getting faster you are yelled at. Fast work + neat work =fucking imposible! I cant begin to count the anxiety attacks this "job" has caused. Managers dont give a damn, you never have help, you are expected to know everything after the first day... Anyways my point is do.not.work.here. Take any other job, minimum wage is worth it compared to working at aldi.Do think about it, dont consider it, dont even apply as a joke.

Comments: This place is terrible. Training sucks and ten you are constantly belittled by the store manager in front of customers. Our register tills have been broken and it is counting our scans per minute lower than it is. One employee even got a speed of 8 when she didn't time out or scan slow. She did 6000 alone in sales in 4 hours so a speed o 8 would be impossible. But the stores are says they are right and we are too slow when he is only ringing 30 himself. But he doesn't get reprimanded by the DM for treating us like crap in front of customers. Aldi doesn't care about employees they only care about profit.

Comments: Don't fall for the great pay they try to convince you you'll get. The insurance is awful. You'll get a great starting pay, but don't plan on making much more beyond that. Go anywhere else or do what I'm doing and GO TO SCHOOL! It took me 17 years, but I'm doing it. I'm grateful my time left there is limited!

Comments: Aldi is the worst place to work as you do not get legal breaks, no dinner break even for a 12 hour shift. They do not care that you have a family, and constantly threaten you with the sack if you are ill or need time off because of family emergency

Comments: As a former Area Manager with ALDI, I would strongly discourage anyone with a university degree from going for the Area Manager role with ALDI. The typical people you will be working with in these roles are obnoxious, aggressive and over confident. This is the ALDI type they are after. They only want people with uni degrees because it shows you can achieve something. You won’t be using anything you’ve learnt at uni, so it seems such a waste of all that study. The role is basically running their supermarkets, a job which people without a uni degree could also manage easily. They will work you to the bone for 2-3 years and then replace you with new grads. There are very limited opportunities to progress above Area Manager, as the number of Director roles is limited and everyone is competing for them, and the existing Directors won’t leave their current roles so they don’t come up often. The progression from Area Manager is to Store Operations Director, Buying Director, Property Director or Warehouse Director. Given the existing directors have nowhere else to go, besides Managing Director, there are limited opportunities for progression. Each region can only have 1 or 2 Store Operations Directors etc., there is only 1 Managing Director. So the number of people in the Director roles is small. Most people working for ALDI develop very specific skills in overseeing supermarkets, and there are limited opportunities to move into other retail companies with the ALDI experience. Other retailers would rather promote their existing staff into management, and so if you leave the company you will find it difficult to gain employment elsewhere with the ALDI background as your experience. I would strongly discourage anyone from pursuing an opportunity with them, as they are a ruthless company and will use you until they can replace you. ALDI only operates for the profit of the German owners. ALDI don’t hesitate to replace people they don’t like, and their staff turnover is very high. Uni graduates would be better advised to work in roles where they can utilize the degree they’ve studied, which in the long term will give them a lot more opportunities than ALDI can offer. Whilst other companies offer a lower starting salary for graduates, you will quickly catch up, and in the long term be in a much better position with a career that actually makes you attractive to many firms. Whilst the ALDI starting salary is high, it doesn’t go up much further once you are in the company. It is a bait to attract lots of applicants to apply, and then you get stuck. I really regret working for ALDI and would have been better off starting off in a career oriented firm where I was using my uni degree.

Comments: Store management is ok but upper level corporate management is not. District managers and Directors of Operations don't care about employees or stores, only their own advancement.

Comments: if you can handle alot of the BS to this job, hardly any breaks, eat a meal before you go to work, chances are you will not have a chance to eat at all. be prepared to get hurt, alot!! it is very physically demanding, also you will get no praise for your hard work, but will be sure to be criticized for whatever you do wrong. it pays well, but you are earning every single penny! and will feel underpaid even then. You are always alone! and will have to deal with many things by yourself.

Comments: i have worked for them for few years now,i loved the work even though it can be challenging. been told good enough for protion, promised promotion twice and both times been let down as either the power tripping area manager prefers to hire someone completly new and retrain them or they decide they dont have a possition available anymore.when its them comin to you and offering promotion i dont think its on to mess people about. not just me its happened too.avoid

Comments: Thumbs down. The pay was REALLY good but its getting worse every year. Their business ethics resemble the nazis. District managers are like vendictive highschool cheerleaders (and about the same age and qualifications). Trust me, take a job paying less. YES, I am a former disgruntled employee. If you take a job with aldi's you will be too!
