| Comments: | I worked with some great people at Best -- my coworkers over the years were almost all world-class. Likewise lower management was almost always made up of good, sympathetic folks. But upper management and HR maintain an antagonistic attitude toward their employees and treat them like disposable components. Counterintuitively, job security at Best is surprisingly good. If you can ignore or avoid all the politicking and the snitches and the secret rules, you'll have a job for decades. You may not get promoted much or at all, but you'll be there forever. |

| Management and Culture review of A.M. Best Company by This Past Employee | |
| Management and Culture Grade: | D (49%) |
| Comments: | Company is suffocatingly conservative; upper management is autocratic and remote. HR views all employees as ne'er-do-wells out to cheat the company somehow. There are dozens of nitpicky rules, both written and unwritten, which can result in termination; a network of snitches helps enforce them. Most employees leave after a year to three years. |

| Compensation, Benefits, and Training review of A.M. Best Company by This Past Employee | |
| Compensation, Benefits, and Training Grade: | D (40%) |
| Comments: | Pay is mediocre to bare minimum needed to attract sufficiently skilled employees. Benefits are poor: no bonuses or incentives, no training, expensive healthcare with minimal coverage, laughable vision care, no pension, almost no sick time. On the plus side: flextime, 401K, reasonable vacation time, tuition reimbursement (but it's hard to qualify for). |
