| Comments: | This company cares about making money, and that is it. I have worked with several employees that have been with the company over 15 years that have been terminated because their sales were too low. Too much responsibility is put on the employees with not enough pay. Short term, this job isn't bad. But if you're looking to go more than a year, this job requires stepping on your coworkers toes to get a sale in order to keep the pay you were given when you started. |
| Business Ethics review of Dillard's by This Current Employee | |
| Business Ethics Grade: | D (40%) |
| Comments: | Pay is based on sales. Not commission, mind you, but a general Sales Per Hour (SPH) average that the salesperson is to attain. If this is not met, 10% of your pay is cut. Not too bad of a policy, if sales is all that a salesperson would do. However, the salesperson is the only person in charge of keeping the area neat and straight, doing markdowns (which, on some days require scanning and ticketing thousands of pieces of merchandise), putting up freight, and creating visual presentation whild putting out merchandise. It is almost impossible to do all this, AND keep the SPH high enough that you do not get a cut in pay. |
